Challenge

The client's aging legacy stack could no longer support its flagship annual event, which draws millions of visitors and depends on coordinating more than 35,000 volunteers across shifts, venues, and roles. Monolithic deployments made releases risky, volunteer scheduling was largely manual, and ticketing integrations failed under surge traffic. Operations teams lacked a single source of truth for check-in status, incident response, and capacity planning. With the next major event approaching on a fixed calendar, leadership needed a modern platform that could scale elastically, preserve historical data, and go live without disrupting partner systems or on-site workflows that thousands of staff already relied on.

Solution

We rebuilt EventSync Pro as a cloud-native microservices platform on Azure, pairing C# services and Entity Framework with a React.js operations console. Domain boundaries covered ticketing, volunteer scheduling, venue operations, and real-time status feeds so each service could scale independently during peak hours. We introduced automated testing with Jest and Cypress, blue-green style release practices, and observability suited to day-of incident response. Legacy data was migrated in controlled waves, while APIs preserved compatibility with existing scanners and partner tools. The result is a cohesive system that handles high concurrent load, streamlines volunteer coordination, and gives organizers a reliable control surface from planning through event closeout.
